500 MEN EMPOWERMENT SUMMIT 11' SUMMIT

In this the sixth consecutive year, The 500 Men Empowerment Summit events provide men with an array of information and support necessary to help improve their socio-economic development. The Summit features workshops threaded with the issues of our economic time targeted to the core of men issues. Moreover, it provides residual networks with supporting service providers, and the faith-based institutions that welcome them.

Why The 500 Men Empowerment Summit is important in the inner city, academic advisors and family practitioners have defined a dismal level of academic attainment; a high school diploma is marveled as something exceptional. Today the GED is no longer a course for a cadre of individual but now a standard for men of indigent circumstance. Our challenge is to reverse a subculture of underachieving men who have embraced prison as a Rights of Passage, men who glorify swagger over work, and men who are mystified by inter-generation hindrances; graphic unemployability, academic mediocrity, absent parenting, child support and racial profiling.

The 500 Men Empowerment Summit engages the sustenance of faith-based institutions, the expertise of provider programming, and the security from supporting City, State, and Federal representatives to; conspire real access for those re-entering the mainstream.
